Founded in 1926, the American Daughters of Sweden was initially organized to foster and encourage an interest in the culture of Sweden both in women born in Sweden as well as in American-born women with Swedish ancestors.

The organization has, over the past 80 plus years, awarded hundreds of scholarships to the University of Chicago, North Park University, Augustana College, and Concordia Language Village for  girls to learn the Swedish language.

Our cookbook "Swedish Recipes, Old and New", published in 1955, has sold over 100,000 copies, making it a best seller.

We meet usually on the second Saturday of the month, September through June.
